Limited edition of roughly 500. About 100 were mispressed or had other issues, and 300 were mailed out to friends, musicians, and various celebrities. Some copies were signed on the inside, and all copies have a handwritten, ludicrous edition number (e.g. 16/18, 7/58, 000, 2/1, 11/12) between "Santa Dog" and "Ralph" on the outside of the Christmas card.
Packaged in a gatefold sleeve made to resemble an insurance agency's Christmas card. Several copies had the sleeves stuck together because they were folded and packaged before the varnish, applied to seal in the hand silk-screened cover art, had sufficiently dried.
Inside sleeve has the following text around the edge (clockwise, from lower left):
"The Ventures appear courtesy of Dolton Records * The Singing Lawn Chairs appear courtesy of San Mateo County * Aircraft Damage from the Ralph film "Vileness Fats" coming soon to a theater near you * Artwork - Porno/Graphics * Ralph Records and Porno/Graphics are divisions of Residents Uninc. 18 Sycamore St Bldg SF CA 94110 (415) 863 5896 * © 1972 * ."
In the center:
"Season's Greetings, Residents, Uninc."
Auto-coupled release. One disc has side One and side Four, and the other disc has side Two and side Three.

Track 3 uses an uncredited sample of Concert Percussion For Orchestra (Time Records, S/8000 - 1961).

Edited 6 years agoLooking for an original pic sleeve in ANY condition. Willing to buy or trade for various Secret Records limited edition releases, etc. -
Edited 14 years agoThe starting point for the Residents. All four tracks are great, and make sense once one understands the Residents (especially since "Aircraft Damage" is an excerpt from the unreleased-in-full "Vileness Fats" film project).
