Notes
"Hello, I Must Be Going!" is the second solo effort from Phil Collins. Released on 1 November 1982 on the The Supremes' You Can't Hurry Love becoming the album's most significant hit. Other tracks include the modern-jazz instrumental The West Side, (a concert fan-favorite) I Cannot Believe It's True, (a tune written about Collins' first wife demanding for more money in alimony now that he had become a huge success as a solo artist) and the album opener, the angry I Don't Care Anymore, (a direct jab at his ex-wife). That track ultimately reached No. 39 in the U.S., giving Collins his first Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Male in 1984. The song was also featured in an episode of the television series MIAMI VICE, a trend that the show's producers would repeat many times. The album derives its name from the Marx Brothers' song of the same name, featured in their 1930 movie Animal Crackers.

This record is so much better than all the so called music connosieurs seem to apply.I don’t get it,what is so bad about this one, when everrything seems to be in order production vice and so on?.Come on you doubters have you even listened to it,I think not.

Phil is a music master. Wonderful album. Good recording and nice pressing. Happy to have it on Vinyl.

I never ever heard this album before. I bought it this afternoon, cleaned it with a spinclean, I am now sitting in my room listening to it. The music is great, everything sounds perfect, no big audible surface noise. This is really an album that is over 40 years old that still keeps up and sounds like I bought it brandnew wowww.
-
Decent quality reissue, flat pressing and pretty quiet after a clean. Though not groundbreaking, it’s a solid follow-up to Face Value.
-
Perfect sounding record. Quiet and flat pressing. Great sound stage. But this edition comes without the original inner sleeve. So there are no production credits etc.. So Analogue Productions, please put the production notes or a replica of the inner sleeve inside further editions.
-
Marked down a notch for the inclusion of "You Can't Hurry Love", the soppiest Motown cover ever perpetrated by a white man.
-
That’s it , he should have gone instead of recording this ;) . Apart from « you can’t hurry love », the whole album is boring.

Edited one year agoI now have 9 different titles from the Atlantic 75 series and every one of these puppies sound fantastic. They're all flat, quiet and clean sounding with great soundstage and just the right amount of bass but not too overwhelming like some Mofi titles are. Dare I say these are quieter than the UHQRs but they might just be. Maybe if those UHQRs were pressed on black vinyl they would be better. But then again I'm not running a pressing plant so what do I know other than what my ears tell me.

Phil Collins' album "Hello, I Must Be Going!" is undoubtedly a masterpiece of 80s pop music, captivating listeners with its catchy melodies and profound lyrics. As part of the Atlantic 75 Audiophile Series by Analogue Productions, this album has been reissued with outstanding sound quality that revolutionizes listening habits and creates a new level of musical experience.
The first thing that strikes you as the needle touches the flawless surface of the LP is the clarity and depth of the sound. Every note, every beat, and every vocal tone is reproduced with a clarity that highlights even the finest nuances of the recording. The instrumental separation is phenomenal, with each element of the arrangement occupying its own space yet harmoniously blending with the others.
The dynamic range of this album is also remarkable. From the quiet, introspective moments to the powerful, exhilarating ages, the sound quality remains balanced and precise. The gentle piano chords in "You Can't Hurry Love" sound so crystal clear that you feel like sitting right next to the pianist, while the energetic drum rhythms in "I Don't Care Anymore" make you feel like you're in the middle of a live concert.
The depth of the bass on this pressing is particularly impressive. Every bass thump is palpable and powerful, filling the room with a rich, warm wave of sound and adding an extra dimension of depth and intensity to the songs.
The quality of the pressing from Analogue Productions' Atlantic 75 Audiophile Series is a true delight for audiophile enthusiasts and music lovers alike. It allows you to experience Phil Collins' music in a quality that does justice to the artist's original vision while providing a new level of enjoyment and immersion. This reissue is not only a tribute to a great album but also proof of the tireless dedication to perfection in vinyl production. Anyone who hasn't heard this album yet is undoubtedly missing out on an extraordinary sonic experience. -
I always loved this album. Always loved the original vinyl pressing. Just wall to wall good.
Couldn't wait for this pressing to arrive. Generally when the original is already good, why bother? But.....this just plain slaps!!! Clear.. quiet... incredible air in the grooves and dynamic soundstage. What a delight. Bravo Chris Bellman and thank you to all involved.
So necessary.
Committ .
