Notes

Greed was initially released on both vinyl, cassette tape and CD - the later of which contained the three tracks from the Time Is Money (Bastard) 12" as bonus.

This album was however not to be released again in its original form - instead the recordings were used for the Cop/Young God · Greed/Holy Money 2CD set.

For how it sounds and looks, this could’ve easily been an official re-issue edition. Cover is shinny and strong, inner is thick and beautiful and the vinyl material is solid. The sound is pretty terrific, too good for being unofficial I’d say. It probably didn’t have the Gira approval so it went bootleg ..or maybe I’m a stupid wuzz. No seriously, I’m totally loving this x.999.

Surprisingly great comment section here. I'd personally say it's awesome when recreations of original pieces are widely distributed for a fair price, I'm not a fan of 'marketing this as something else' but I'd call this a fan club or tribute quicker than I'd insult it by calling it a bootleg. Pay $100 for the original in okay condition or ~$25-30 for this in mint. Your call. Nobody cares.

I've got one of these and didn't know it was a boot. RIP

Accidentally bought this at a record store thinking it was the real deal. Was surprised when I saw it was a bootleg. Sounds pretty decent, not perfect and not a 100% clear sound but I think it was worth the $30 I payed for it.

This a garbage bootleg -- why is it still allowed for sale for Discogs? That shops are charging $40 for this only adds to the insult. Gira's label in the U.S. is his own Young God Records (to state the obvious). In the UK and Europe, it's Mute. "Crazy" how the intrepid X999 "somehow" got the rights to this... Avoid & scorn the sellers of this theft.

My copy (bought on flea market) sounds perfectly. Clean wax and clear full dynamics. Shiny cover and innersleeve are great, too.

I just bought this from a local store here in Minneapolis and I have to say it sounds pretty damn good. I don't have an original pressing to contrast it with (or I wouldn't have had to buy the boot!), but I am quite familiar with the record, and it holds it own against any other digital versions I can recall. The low end resonance may be a bit lost in the mix, but that could just be me looking for something to criticize. Loudly blaring from my speakers today, it hit me like bag of hammers. The cover is an off-color, but still a solid sleeve, and the insert is strong quality. For $22 I'd say this was a good buy. I'd still be interested in a legit reissue, but until that occurs, this is a respectable place holder in my Swans collection.
