The Bad Plus are great. I am happy that they keep making records. My questions here are 1) Would Joshua Redman's greatness overwhelm or change The Bad Plus' sound or style? 2) Would Joshua Redman still be his usually powerful self? 3) How does this record rank in both artist's disography? Well, the most surprising thing is that Joshua Redman does not change The Bad Plus at all! This is a The Bad Plus record. However, Joshua Redman's overrall genius is as present here as anywhere else.
If you love either artist or acoustic jazz, period, you will love this flawless piece of artistry!
