Ragnar Grippé* – Sand

I took a flyer on this one after listen to Ragnar Grippe on one of Phillipe Petit's Modulisme sessions. Very good pressing by Mr. Bonati, with almost no discernable noise. Fascinating recording and a great little essay by the artist to accompany it and give it some context. Highly recommended piece of music and vinyl release.

What a great sounding, dynamic reissue. The sound is extremely detailed and the depth and layering of the instruments is on point. The soundstage is awesome, some noises sound up close, others sound like they're in the distance creating an enticing 3D stereo image. I wonder what source material was used for this because it does not sound digital at all. While I have not been a fan of Bonati Mastering in the past, they did an excellent job here. Vinyl is pressed flawless too. Centered, flat and quiet with no surface noise. Excellent reissue of some great rare music? 10/10

Dais Records really did the world a favor by making this lovely piece of rolling, mutating musique concrete (a truly timeless piece of music that shows no age) available to the general public again with an excellent repress. I was a bit concerned when I saw the clear vinyl but my copy is excellent with bright, crisp music quality and no pops or scratches. Will "Electronic Compositions" be next? Let's hope so!

Unusual and experimental - but very listenable album of endlessly echoed percussion and keyboards. Hypnotic.
I kept seeing copies of this everywhere I went in the '80s, should've bought em all.
