Great remastering, but a very noisy pressing. Rainbo Records QC is crap. I’d be inclined to stick to the CD in this instance.

Stone classic. Although it has some of Leon's most covered and memorable tunes, it's much more than a "songwriter's album". The combo of blues, New Orleans r&b, pop, swamp rock vibes, gospel and country is simmered to mature and natural perfection even here on the debut. Leon had it all: the guy could write, throw down lyrics that ran from profound to funny to poignant (often all in one song), play the hell of of a piano, arrange, produce, sing and was a visual icon (to the point where Dr. Teeth is partly based on him, Dr. John and Elton). Rock heavyweights don't hurt either. A sure calling card for a great player, arranger and writer.

Hi - My copy has these matrix numbers but with a blacked Shelter logo on sleeve and SW-8901 on sleeve and labels. Anyone else?

I have No.1977. 4-1/2 out of 5 for sound. This is a great record. Hard to find new though. Another great Kevin Gray mastering.

How come there is no mention ,of the SHELTER flexi disc that came with early 1st pressings advertising Freddie King Alan Gerber

" They claimed it to be a limited pressing of 1000, though that appears to be untrue." It has to be false as my copy is #1042.

Track B3 needs to be edited out of this version. This is not the SHE-1001 version that has that extra song.
