Many don't grasp the album, because he was inwardly, digging deep on this record. A completely different direction than Timeless. It has some of the best tracks he's ever put out, though it does feel uneven in some parts.

I only liked Temper Temper and the track with Bowie and you can't get the latter on the vinyl releases unfortunately.

Poor on release, still sounds boring. Just don't get the accolades its just not very good.

I am not a Drum 'n' Bass expert. In fact, there are very few tracks or artists from that genre that I actually know. So I might not be the most qualified person to rate this album.

However, I do that there was a certain hype surrounding SATURNZ RETURN back in 1998. But in 2023 there isn't really much on it that blows me away. Yeah, the hourlong MOTHER is ambitious, but also far from being high on my list of things that I wanna listen to over and over. It just sits there and achieves very little in a lot of time. It's cool that David Bowie sings on TRUTH, but even that one is more a bit of background noise than something actually worthy of Bowie's participation.

Long review short: The only real banger on it is TEMPER TEMPER. DRAGONFLY is another overlong track, but the 16 minutes feel actually worth it this time. And CRYSTAL CLEAR is a really cool song to blast through your window during a hot summer evening. But apart from that, most of it feels like filler material.

Again: I am not a DnB expert. I don't know if this album was some kind of innovative quantum leap for the genre by 1998 standards or even still uniquely stands out of the genre. But for me it doesn't do a lot. It's not bad. It's just okay.

"get this for this" "get this for that" bro get the cd for the good fkn whole thing

but yes this is a good package, spreading the 10 tracks that fit on 4 discs

it's no timeless but i like how this mixes the ambient sections from it with new harder sounds

Just a small point but I think the drummer on Temper Temper is actually Trevor MORAIS who played with Underworld, Bjork, The Peddlers AND Rory Storm & The Hurricanes. He should be properly credited. The man's a legend!

Just bought this and realized it doesn't have "Believe" I guess I'll have to buy the 12" single.

I haven’t seen anyone else mention this, but my inner sleeves do not list the tracks in the correct order as per Discogs’ info above.
For example, the inner for the 2nd disc shows Side 4 as having 3 tracks, when it’s clearly only 1 track by looking at the vinyl and as listed above.

Just buy this for 'Dragonfly' if nothing else. A gorgeous trip of a tune that's worth the entry price alone, it still sounds fresh even now. A song that's stayed with me over the years and still takes me away from the everyday grind of life for a while, it's like Pat Metheney jamming with Photek, that's what music should be about! Nuff said....
Its also a shame Mother isn't on vinyl as I really like that track and the Drum sections are brilliant.

Not good to play with future, with art in Musique electro, like Goldie try to with this epic Moment Mother.
