Kon Kan’s first single was inspired by Coldcut. The single received a 1990 Juno Award for Best Dance Recording.

Contains samples of Ivana Spagna - Call Me, and an interpolation of Elmer Bernstein’s theme song to “The Magnificent Seven”.

Glad I bought this. It sounds very dated now but in 1990 it sounded so fresh. Brings back a lot of memories for me.

a few years ago i heard this song included in a mix, but it contained additional sample from Lynn Anderson's "Rose Garden", specifically the part where she sings "I beg your pardon, I never promised you a rose garden" was included. Does anyone know which version i was listening to?

this was a huge new wave dance music tune in the late 80's. played on the radio and in nightclubs at the time and still rocks retro nights today. happy and fun and exuberant like new order's 'bizarre love triangle'. massive!

the 'in the green house mix' on this (the revolving records version of the single) is different to the 'i beg your house mix' on all the other editions of the record, and it's worth looking for as it's much, much better. jacking bassline, acid touches, creepy reverse samples - just a really good higgledy-piggledy, rough round the edges 80s house track. the other one is somewhat similar but with less acid and more crap from the original track retained.

This song features a sample from the chorus of Lynn Anderson's hit "Rose Garden". It also features a wicked synthesiser riff that apparantly is a mash up from Spagna's hit 'Call me'.
