Charles Mingus – Mingus Ah Um

So this is a very clean sounding pressing , sounds more like a CD then Vinyl . I also have a copy of https://www.discogs.sie.com/release/2023361-Charles-Mingus-Better-Git-It-In-Your-Soul - This is a repressing from the 1970's that includes Ah Um and Mingus Dynasty . It sounds warmer then this 2009 Jazz Wax , but my copy has surface noise and pops . This is the dilemma you will have , pay $15.00 for the 2009 or maybe $50 - $ 100 for an original clean 1970's repress .Its a great album , so if even if you do not have the best copy its a enjoyable experience .

Limited 140g HQ Clear Vinyl. Has a nice sound, but unfortunately some crackling. The clear vinyl is nice looking.

A nice reissue, flat and quiet which is nice for a change. Very good for a reissue of this material

This French mono release sounds great . Probably a mid sixties release .

Nice to see the stereo and mono versions available in one release.....however be aware that both versions on this album are the original releases which were heavily edited to fit the format of the day, so subsequently several of the tracks are considerably shorter. Still a great listen though.

Outstanding album. Like the other commenter said it has a strong presence. A/B testing against Spotify shows me just how airy and lively this presssing is in comparison.

The listening is really great. Very detailed, broad and precise. I don't have other versions to make the comparison, but for me listening to it is a pleasure.

I'm undecided whether mine is this version of 2015 or that of 2010, because the runouts are these, but I don't have the leaflet of the 2015 releases. In case of doubt I inserted it in this version.

Mine matches this release but has a “6” in bottom right corner of back cover

One of my best sounding (and favorite) LPs. Bought sealed from Penny Lane in Burbank CA in early 2003. I've not heard other vinyl copies to compare it to but can't imagine many non first editions that are as crisp and sound this close to the source.
