I washed mine (as I always do) and there is still too kuch crackle for comfortable listen of such quiet and detailed music.
-
My copy came out of the sleeves flat, very clean and free from scuffs ; which is petty surprising considering there are no poly liners on the thick-card inner sleeves. I was then further thrilled to hear it sounding pretty much perfect, after having some bad luck with my copy of Sunset Mission. It seems like Pias is a bit hit/miss , but this time i was very lucky !
The gatefold cover has a satin finish and the inner sleeves have identical images on each. The bonus CD comes in a clear plastic sleeve and is a very welcome addition to the package. -

WTF happened?! When it came out I hated the album. I hated the music, I hated the sound and I hated the cover. Now, almost eight years later I listened to it again and fell in love with it! I think it's my second favourite after "Geisterfaust". -
This press sounds great to me. A good washing prior to playing, 99% of the time, yields a gratifying playback.
-
I can confirm the earlier reviews: my copy has more crackles & pops than New Year’s fireworks.
I might take the chance and buy another one, maybe I just got a dud. -
I opened mine only today and side D came with scratches that just ruined the listening experience. As much as I love Bohren, I'm skeptic about buying any other of their vinyl reissues. This is really frustrating.

Edited 6 years agoI got the "Sunset Mission", "Black Earth" and "Piano Nights" [PIAS] Recordings vinyl reissues and all of them sound and look great. highly recommended pressings.

Edited 7 years agoFine pressing actually, nicely silent, without distortion problems as previously mentioned. Everything looks great, I am very happy with it!

Ulver's 'Perdition City' led me here, i intend to stay in this cocoon for quite some time.
