The Saints (2) – (I'm) Stranded

The original master tapes were never returned by Power Exchange, so the only versions of stranded/no time that were cut from the original tapes are the original fatal records 7" and the uk power exchange 7" version. All other versions come from 2nd hand sources, including any pressing of their debut LP and sound a bit muted in comparison.

Awesome set, sounds great, looks great. My copy didn't come with the press photo, tho.

This album has always sounded terrible. Anyone have a comment on if this reissue sounds any better than any of the '77 pressings? Even the US first press sounds trashy. I know. I know: "hey. its punk"

I've had this pressing for ages (and no others) and always thought it sounded pretty bad. But finally found an original US pressing and turns out that THE RECORD JUST SOUNDS LIKE SH*T. The original is no better, maybe even worse. So lets give 4MWB a break here. They made a scare record available to us in vinyl form. Better than anyone else did in the past 25 years btw 1977 and 2003. Buncha complainers round here.

Kudos to whomever set up the mics and managed the mix at the Hope & Anchor that gives Ivor his due.

The question that will eventually come up: how many copies were made?

Pretty cool. Sorta shooting for the moon here with the box set after not having a decent sounding reissue in decades but bravo. I’d imagine that a remastered single LP would be forthcoming once the initial excitement wears off. Here’s to hoping.

Just noticed on LP 3 (Singles & Live 1977) that the song order is off on Side A. The album jacket lists "L-I-E-S" as track 2 and "Do the Robot" as track 3, but that order is reversed on the record.

At least that's the case with my copy. Anyone else have the same issue?
