Lou Reed – Metal Machine Music

A phenomenal album and a landmark noise/experimental release, but beware this particular pressing, which doesn't have the lock groove on side D. I'll be glumly flipping this to my local shop and being more careful about which pressing I buy next time. :(

I don’t know about yours, but my copy sounds pretty noisy. 😂

Is this the 2010 Lou Reed remix, or the original 1975 mix?

Reading the comments below, I see that this edition has the fake locked-groove (in the audio) followed by a real lock-groove. The Lou Reed Sister Ray Recordings 2010 release also had a fake lock groove followed by a real-lock groove

Could one of the reviewers here please tell us whether. a. This is the Lou Reed 2010 remix, or the original 1975 RCA mix? And b. Does side 4 end with a locked-groove?

Great to finally have MMM available on vinyl again. Not an easy listen by any means but if you're into any kind of experimental music you'll find it nowhere near as challenging as the critics & bloggers of the past half-century would have you believe it is. Let it wash over you and it becomes almost beautiful - ambient music that blends into the background by wearing you down.

This pressing sounds as good as any other I've heard and for everyone complaining about the cover, I personally don't mind it & was never a fan of the original artwork anyway. Do I think the more detailed embossing and silver vinyl of the US pressing are nicer? Sure, but I'm not about to pay double the price through international shipping & taxes for such small details. Buy it, enjoy it, and stop obsessing over whatever minor shortcomings this reissue might have.

Just curious, does this silver RSD version of MMM preserve the Side D locked run-off groove that the OG has?

Nice reissue, vinyl is silent and flat, some liner notes by Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth , not for everyone but Im glad I picked this up… this album is sooo rock n roll , love it! …Lou is such a bad ass! 😂
I also love the minimal “ metallic “ cover and the metallic color vinyl, both compliment the music imho …its a great package

The reissue cover is a disappointment. If you’re gonna pay $50+ for the reissue, you might as well pay a little more for an original with the iconic cover.

I'm assuming this is a remaster from the original master tapes. Hopefully it's an improvement. Can you hear the vocals in the new remaster? In the original release, the vocals were totally lost in the mix.
