Eloy – Colours

Great sounding pressing!

While not made with the same stampers as the original release, like I’d heard some Fame reissues are, this made for a dynamic, lively and engaging listen.

Take particular note of the low end synth parts on this record, the pulsing at the beginning of “Horizons” and the atmospheric sounds at the start of “Giant” are definitely felt here. Bass is solid, and all percussion from the thump of the kick to the gentlest tap of the hi-hat is well represented.

I don’t know how it compares to an original 1980 gatefold pressing (which I’d like to track down to have the lyrics on the inside), but this one sounds plenty good!

One of their best albums. A must for any prog rock lovers. s groovy answer to Pink Floyd.

I had long time ago a spanish version of " colours" who on the side B included also the song " Wings of vision" released on single the same year. but i can´t find this version on discogs.

There is unfortunally no informations about the flute solo of the song "impressions" on the cover. It is a beautiful song and besides "Illumination" , "Child Migration" and "Sunset" my favourites. In generall a very good album and great cover art work. Because of that cover I bought this record once in Munich in a record store.

Can anyone help answer this question:

- Who plays the flute-solo on the song "Impressions"?

There is label a variation of this version. All the same including matrix / runout and small green German text on the label, but the other letters on the label are black.
