Recently purchased this LP with the misprint label B. I am wondering what the value of the misprint version vs the correct print? Thanks

Now, this “dynamic stereo” version is FIRE!!
Basie’s playing in the room on the left side… and somehow those horns… I’m sitting right in the middle … and feels like Eddie is literally in front of me on percussion.

Somehow all the instruments are in their own space without being crowded.

That said, I very surprised MOFI or Acoustic Sounds hasn’t picked this up for remaster…

As is - it’s clearly an Audiophile offering - even without the current kings of remaster having a hand at it.

I was very sad the album came to and end.
A new favorite.

Billy Mitchell is called Willie on album cover. Confirmed most other references to him are as Billy.
Rec. at a 2nd annual DJ convention at the Americana Hotel in Miami, Florida, (a Peggy Lee/George Shearing album in this collection, claimed to be rec. on the previous night for Capitol, but that recording was actually in studio, with dubbed audience sounds.)

This is a fantastic release. It has a very unique vibe to it, probably due to it being recorded during the wee hours of the morning (it is said that the multiple sets started at 2 am). The two vocal numbers featuring Joe Williams are fantastic as usual with 5 O'Clock in the Morning being a highlight. The music throughout this LP goes from low key and groovy to blasting, swinging horns and percussion in a single song, almost like the band is trying to wake up the audience and get them out on the dance floor... Over the years, this has become one of my favorite Basie LPs... highly recommended. Great stuff here.
