Edited one day agoSide A on my copy is off center. Anyone else with a black vinyl copy (or either color variant) experience this? Doesn’t seem aggressive enough to be audible, although I am not familiar enough with the album to say for sure.

So far I've just listened to the FLAC files. This is a great album; cohesive and immersive. One track will give your speaker set up (and your ears) a work out - you'll know the one I'm talking about when you hear it; I think every sonic frequency is present and correct, possibly all at the same time.

Perfect press - Great mastering. nice and lively, well-controlled bass, mids and treble, Well balanced. Noise-free vinyl, too. -

Pretty much noise free but cut loud, a little sibilant in some areas -
i preordered my copy from the stereolab store. it arrived before the official release day (today). if you like all the other stereolab records (i do), then you will like this one. if you were not told ahead of time, you would have no idea that there was a 15-year gap between this and their previous album.
the main thing that kept me from becoming a stereolab fan a lot earlier than i did was that all their records sounded the same to me. i kept that opinion right up to "mars audiac quintet," which was for me the first one to break the mold. i have been a solid fan since then.
the rest of their records do still sound a lot alike to me. but i guess i got over it. the practical upshot is that you have to dig a little deeper to find the original parts, compared to other bands. -
Side C on my copy is notably off centre, with patches distortion/noise on the left channel in a couple of places (unless it's supposed to be like that, the word 'frequency' on Transmuted Matter for example... anyone with a CD copy care to confirm?) A few harsh sibilants dotted throughout. Noise floor level = normal for coloured vinyl.
Musically though, absolutely top notch stuff. Worth the wait? You betcha.

This album is a welcome return for Stereolab--they haven't missed a beat in 15 years. Excellent sounding press and killer embossed packaging, too! Zero complaints across the board.
