Love this album. Underrated in my opinion. I know it's crazy to say that an album that was a Grammy is underrated but when it comes to Bill Evans recordings, it is. -

as this is bill's last studio recording, it's an absolutely brilliant end to a fascinating career. he stepped away from the trio format for this one, as he often did for his studio recordings in the 70s. and it pays off well. larry schneider is back on board and bill brings out some of his best originals from the later years. as much as the trio from this era has been documented on live recordings, it has made this album get a little overshadowed, which is unfortunate. if you want the full picture of just how invigorated bill's playing and composition were in his twilight, this is the one for you.
