"Find My Way" was released in 1975 as the very first release for Chocolate City Records, the new subsidiary label of Casablanca Records, created by co-founder Cecil Holmes. It was also the very first release for the New York funk group called "The Players," which later changed its name to "Cameo" to avoid confusion with "The Ohio Players."

After a second pressing was released under the new name, Cameo's streak of success began. The group re-recorded the song in 1979 for the "Secret Omen" album.
