Keith Jarrett – The Köln Concert

This is a perfect jazz record and this US pressing sounds great too.

Really nice pressing. Nice low-end considering Keith’s distaste with the hall’s piano. Historic show. Solo Keith Jarrett as his peak in performance. What more needs to be said?

A truly magnificent piece of musical history, don't know why it took me so long to add to my vinyl collection. Jarrett is sublime in his improvisation, what a privilege it must have been to witness such genius live.
My copy sounds great, even with all its clicks and pops, just makes me think how many other owners have sat and listened to this amazing recording before me and I thank them for ing it on. Thank you Keith.

It's not mentioned often enough that Jarrett / Koln Concert is the best-selling solo piano recording across all genres in the history of the record business. No small task. The story behind their travel, lack of sleep, condition of piano - fairly epic moment in music history. For me, it's the moments around 6 and 11 minutes into the first side - stomping on the floor, the loud groaning and the feeling conveyed thru those European folk melodies - visceral. One of those ultimate headphone records. Turn it up!

Recording itself sounds phenomenal… feel like I’m right there on the stage. Hope it can work itself out or improve with more cleaning, but definitely some nuisance surface noise on my first spin. Harder to ignore on a solo piano performance with dynamics like this.

I grabbed this used recently and boy was I impressed with the dynamics, clarity and warmth of this pressing and performance. Highly recommend.

Completely improvised on a broken piano, while dealing with constant pain from his back, what an achievement this record is.

Note the "3541 064" code that only applies to this cassette. "8100 672" applies to the CD that we know was released in 1983.

This album is just wonderful..... Perfect... Free improvisation to the Zenith...

This is just great music by Keith Jarrett. I bought it few weeks ago and I am happy to have it in my collection. If you love Keith this is a must have ;)
