This reissue sounds amazing. I bought this one back in the 1980s. A good option If you don't want to pay a fortune for the early releases.

It is indeed a very good pressing… even though this is a fake stereo, but in a way I didn't know: it's just kinda doubled everywhere. (unless this is what fake stereo is).

Great record by Howlin Wolf. Record sounds great. It has some curious mixes on some songs (fake stereo with vocals hard pan left). But even on those songs, the sound is great. The Mono songs all sound great!

Sounds as good as I can imagine an album like this sounding. Some tracks are mono due to being recorded at different times I presume. I usually don't like bonus tracks being tacked on unless on a separate disc, but these are pretty good.

A mixture of fake stereo and mono with track 5, 10, 11 and 12 in mono and the rest in hard panned early stereo. Search the Juno UK audio samples to confirm with your own ears!

The pressing itself has been done superbly flat and quiet and defect free. The sound on offer is pretty darn decent throughout too, but lets be honest this is not a high watermark of recording quality kinda record.

This coloured edition matches the excellent black copy. Theres a little more surface noise in the deadwax with this coloured copy but the orange-y brown marbled melted effect is gorgeous and dyring the music the surface noise is a non issue being essentially inaudible. The sound on offer is pretty decent throughout but lets be honest this is not a high watermark of recording quality kinda record.

I can't complain. Of course the recording sounds “dirty” at times. This is not due to the pressing, but rather to the source material. Back then, blues musicians didn't have access to the best studio technology. Apart from that, the LP sounds very differentiated. I'm satisfied, there are a lot of metal records from the 1980s that sound much duller. In my opinion you can't go wrong for the price.

For the price this is on the market right now it’s a no brainer: raw blues which soundquality has to be seen in the years this music was recorded. My album had no defects. Great album cover.

This is the one if your not lookin to drop 500 plus for a beat up orginal. No fake stereo, sounds great!
