Arooj Aftab – Vulture Prince

Incredible music, good mastering, but yet again a record that is spoilt by shit quality control failing to pick up non fill. So bored of every other new record being pressed with audible faults and nobody - the label or pressing plant - seeming to care? This wonderful, brilliant artist deserves better.

Absolutely beautiful. Pretty sure this is the best sounding modern pressing in my collection.

Has anyone A/B'd this with the 2LP reissue? Love to know

My copy sounds fantastic, I don't know what to tell y'all with problems. Is it quality control issues? I dunno, but for what vinyl production costs are these days I'm not mad about the price for a 2lp set in a non-gatefold sleeve.

To start off, the word "Deluxe" is a bit deceiving when you see the jacket. They have used the cheap Econo single jacket for the 2 LP set, opting out of a proper gatefold. Secondly the pressing is bad. Distortion on vocals. This is a very common problem with this pressing. My album sounds horrible. Distorted vocals, pops and clicks throughout LP set. This is an album that has been Vacuum cleaned with a 3 part system, Zapped with a Zerostat and dry cleaned before playing on a high end audiophile system. This is a pressing issue. More people than not have dealt with it. They need to address this. They should also remove the word "Deluxe" if they are not going to provide a proper jacket. Such a shame on such a Beautiful record. Verve should know better.

This is the second copy I've purchased of the deluxe issue of this Album. Unfortunately, the same problems with playback on Side A especially track 1. Judging by the other comments on here I'm not the only one. Whats happened to quality control? Not sure I'll bother again? Maybe the US version is OK?

A friend had heard this album recently and raved about it. l had never heard of Arooj or her sing. Today I was in a local record shop and the owner recommended this album saying it was the best record he had heard. So that was two recommendations for this album/singer. Naturally l bought it, and l write whilst listening to it. WOW!! I’m blown away, what a beautiful voice, instruments are separated. It plays without crackle or pop & more importantly my wife commented on how nice it is. Beautiful music. Highly recommended.

I’m totally in love with her voice. Music and pressing on par. Recommended
