I bought a new version, but it had sides A and B... duplicated !
Perhaps someone has sides C and D duplicated as well, for a swap ? -
This album is incredibly sick, every side has a secret song that you have to lift the needle onto to play and its all the austronaughts (and a nomai's) instruments individeually by themselves (with the exception of Esker and Chert who play together and Feldspar and Gabbro playing together)
Such an amazing soundtrack, my only complaint would be how difficult it is to get the sleaves into back into the main album thingy, but everything else just down to the artwork, material and aesthetic is all top-notch amazing work 10/10 -
Definitely has pops/cracks, especially in the B side with all of the spacey music. The outer jacket is definitely tight and the inner sleeves are paper that came ripped on one side each. The jacket has a nice look and feel to it because they apparently cloth-bound it. The whole jacket is covered in neat art and the sleeves have sheet music on them to play all of the character's part of the main song. There is a "secret" track just before the runout, which is cool of them but would have been a good idea to put it after the runout so my automatic turntable doesn't become a selective manual turntable. The quality is not bad, but not very good since it has noise all over. I would expect better for $42.99 + shipping, but care too much about this album to it up.
As of right now, the restock is still available to order on the iam8bit website. I ordered both Outer Wilds vinyls and the package came with an ad for a game they are releasing and a nice looking reflective iam8bit sticker. -
Another order is up! All items in stock, too! Perfect in time for the holidays!!
Cannot wait to cozy up with this one!!! -
Have confirmed with a few retailers via email that iam8bit have scheduled another repress for Nov 2024 - PixelCrib in Aus and Vinyl Guru in the UK have pre-orders open already with a delivery date in December. Whether this timing is accurate or ends up pushed out to 2025 we'll have to wait and see, though.
Moral of the story either way - don't feed the scalpers. There'll be more copies coming. -
I received the recent repress and the music is wonderful. I'd say the playback quality is typical of iam8bit releases, not perfect with the occasional pops, clicks, and ticks. I don't mind the paper inner sleeves, as it adds to the artwork of the album, and I always replace the paper inner sleeves with polylined inner sleeves anyway. One thing that I always tend not to like on releases is when the record is hard to put back into the jacket, which is the case of this album. Using a thick paper cardboard like material is fine, but give some space for the records to slide into the jacket without having to wiggle it back and fourth until it'll go in.

My primary problem with it is in the sleeves. The inner sleeves are fragile and not lined with plastic on the inside, so you will get scuff marks all over the vinyl if you use the inner sleeve repeatedly. The second problem is that the outer sleeves are too tight, and will not fit a vinyl in a thicker inner sleeve if you intend to replace the inner sleeves. Regarding the record itself, the pressing isn't bad per se, but I do find that it lacks depth in the mastering? You really need to turn up the volume to get the sound, which is a negative for headphone s, and even then it doesn't sound as good as the digital versions. This might just be my record though, or just a subjective thing. Beyond that its a very clean pressing.

Thank god that somebody knows how to master a record. The last half dozen I've had have had distortion on the high end but this sounds FAN-TAS-TIC.
I hope iam8bit gets their shit together and lets people do a proper pre order soon! -
This is a long shot, but:
I bought this album sealed, and it came with two side A/B, and the C/D was missing. Did anyone get two C/D records, and want to swap?
