Any comments about the release? Does it make sense to take a color one compared to a black vinyl record in 2023?

I've never really been into PURE extreme metal.
I really enjoy its bastard mixtures like melodic death metal, the late nineties' albums from the band's that placed the Gothenburg sound into the map, such as In Flames or At The Gates, or it's more progressive incarnations, like Ihsahn's or Opeth's outputs ('After' and 'Ghost Reveries' are still two of my favourite albums ever).
However, when the Polish band Behemoth released "The Satanist" I was amused of how much I liked it, being a little off my comfort zone.
After that, I started to do a little research and got the previous "Evangelion" at my local record store.
If it is true didn't cause the impact that "The Satanist" had caused, "Evangelion" shares many of the characteristics that I enjoy from its follow up, a purified, distilled and concentrated form of the pure rage, hatred and violence you'd expect from a blackened death metal band.
Nergal's brutal shrieks/ growls perfectly match the onslaught of blast beats and killer riffs that constitute the essence of an album that, even when it didn't have the same impact in me as its follow up had, is a thoroughly enjoyable piece of music, and have the blasphemous hymn quality you'd expect of the soundtrack to the end of the world.

Ran Dynamic Range Meter on a vinyl rip and got 10 for Side A and 9 for Side B. Really low for a record. Also very crackly.

In direct comparsion to the gold vinyl edition, this picture disc is not as loud as the gold vinyl and the high frequencies are not as distorted as on the gold vinyl, but there are also pops and clicks throughout both sides. It sounds muffled somehow. But Lucifer sounds much better. The 10" bonus LP is louder, but clearer, than both editions.

Is it just my copy or is the sound permanently distorted on the high end? It's noticable through the whole album, but especially on the track "Lucifer". I have to check if the picture disc sounds the same. The packaging is awesome, but my LP should stay in the nice Gatefold sleeve and should not be listened to.

Sounds really good and the packaging is gorgeous, as always with these guys.

Great package, amazing print quality, and sure the sound too. Expansive LP but worth it, strictly limited \m/

I wanna die for missing out on this after so long

The EP is another reference, even if only available through this release. It is AEON013.
