One of Deep Purple’s best. They were in top form with In Rock, Fireball and Machine Head. I could be wrong, but the opening track “Fireball” is one of the first uses of double kick drum which obviously became a trademark for future Heavy Metal bands. Ian Paice is an incredible and under-appreciated drummer—absolutely one of the best. I have the Warner Bros olive green labels. Full and rich sound. It rips.

Great dynamic pressing. If you're looking for absolute clarity look somewherelse. But if you want drive, punch, and good bass weight, it is all here.

Very good reissue. Nice textured sleeve if on the flimsier side. My press is mostly flat and plays quietly. The sound is excellent here! Oh and its PURPLE 😈

While looking through the collection I came across the reviews listed below. and decided to do my own test. tested this release. comparing with the album IN THE ROCK. -America-2016. HÖR ZU. Machine Head-72-America. and APRIL- original.
all Americans have the same recording. The high frequencies are reduced and the low frequencies are increased. sounds spacious and clear.
after the twentieth year the situation changed for the better. If you listen to the originals. I don’t yet know the quality of the remasters; I’m afraid to buy them. I have experience... unfortunately.

Flat, quiet, great sound (best ever?) etc etc. Everything you want from a reissue. Even the packaging has superb attention to detail, right down to the textured sleeve as per the original. The coloured vinyl is a bonus and looks good with the yellow Harvest label. Quite simply deep perfect.
