Schoolly D – P.S.K.-What Does It Mean? / Gucci Time

A stone cold hiphop banger here from the 80s. Much respect to hiphop pioneer Schoolly-D. Presentation of this Single really knocks it out of the park. The booklet, sleeve quality, vinyl quality it's all there. Funny thing to notice is the surface noise being different on the yellow part and the clear part of the vinyl. Love love love this pressing. Beautiful record, the bonuses are awesome (especially the stickers), and the songs are absolute classics, Gucci Time especially. The booming sound they achieved with the 909 is fucking crazy, especially for the 80's.

This is a new 7" so does anyone know why it's so crackly? Were the tracks recorded from old vinyl? Also the labels are quite a pale yellow. Anyway, nice to have on a 7" with an instrumental despite the crackle.

This single cracks me up. The beats are absurdly simple, and I have no idea why the tracks are so long as they are insanely repetitive. Rap has come a loooong way. Some pretty funny lyrics here though.

Also, is anyone else's copy labeled incorrectly? The side with the track listings that says "this side P.S.K. "What Does It Mean"?" has Gucci Time on it, and PSK is on the "other side."

Production & rap are incredible for '85. Hard to imagine life without it nearly 30 years later.
Oh, and if you STILL don't know what it means, PSK was a west Philly gang [Parkside Killers]

amazing , psk is my fav SD track , but the lp is special too . always the baddest dude on the block . simple beatbox beats , nuff bass , scratching , and those vox ! "psk what the hell does that mean ...." ! if you want to discover a hip hop lp that changed rap i think this is one of the classics .
