What can you say other than that this pressing is literally flawless. Punchy, dynamic, clean, literally no surface noise. Sounds like the band is in the room with you while listening to it. -

Fantastic extended mix of Shellshock, longer even that the one on New Order - Substance. If you love the band and this song, the 12"er is essential. -
There’s certainly a reoccurring theme to these 1980’s New Order pressings, whether they’re singles like this one or studio albums, there’s just such an open and airy feel to their sound. Unlike today, thankfully back in the 80’s there was not liberal amounts of dynamic range compression applied by mastering engineers to make the records sound louder. The best sounding records from New Order from the 1980’s, are still from the 1980’s.

Fantastic piece by John Robie and New Order. John should get much more recognition for his immense contributions to the world of underground club culture. This piece is absolutely lovely and figures among New Order's very best.

I believe this digital single is the first time both the full-length 12" version of Shellshock AND the b-side Shellcock have been made available digitally. Both sound great!
-
This version features the original 9.41 extended cut of "Shellshock", and it sounds fantastic. Great remastering!

Do these 2023 New Order 12" reissues come with codes? Qobuz does not have the 12" reissues listed at this time. -
Wow, what a superb pressing! No clicks, pops or noise. Like listening to a 24 bit vinyl or something like that... Wish all pressings sounded like this. But I guess it's a bit of a underrated NO song. The production sounds so good here. Maybe one of the best sounding NO 12" out there.

One of New Order’s more sadly underrated songs. I think the problem is most people have only heard digital versions of shorter edits that sound thin and lifeless. They should really hear this version: the full length mix, on 12” vinyl, at 45 RPM. They’d change their minds, fast.
