Why not adding another "the voice" vinyl release to the collection? Here it is, bought for nothing at a flea market... but the record goes in loop at the very end of side A due to a transverse scratch that I didn't notice for how filthy it was...

I have the 2019 Capitol CD reissue of this album (14 tracks, including four bonus tracks). I have never understood how Capitol came to be reissuing one of Frank's Reprise albums!

This very fine 1969 studio album, was obviously dominated by the worldwide, monster smash hit, My Way. This unfortunately over shadowed some of the very fine other tunes on the record, not least the gorgeous Beatles cover, and the lovely gentle, If You Go Away. Mr Sinatra bowed out of the sixties, very elegantly and gracefully with this under appreciated masterpiece. Some folks think this is a best of, it's not, it's a studio LP.
It works well, however, if you have a few guests over, or just want to blast out a few good cracking tunes at a party. Your friends will find themselves singing and dancing, even if they are not Sinatra fans. A word of warning, move the breakables out of the way, if your pal's, link up, form a line, and start kicking in unison, to My Way. I've seen this happen, at many a karaoke.
This is a good album to give to someone who says they don't like Frank Sinatra, as in my opinion, it has something for everyone. As I've mentioned, it's not a best of, or a greatest hits record, it is however, probably a lot of people's favourite disc, by this legendary vocalist.

The Grain Of Salt

wonderful sounding, feels like you’re sitting in a nightclub. Gorgeous

Probably the same mix used for the remastered Universal LP, it sounds really great on SACD. Bass is impressive, clarity is perfect, vocal tone is to die for. There is some tape hiss, so (luckily) it's not digitally manipulated. A couple of very minor tape glitches, but forgivable considering the age of the source material. Best version I have ever heard.

This sounds pretty damn good to me. It seems there are a lot of copies out there still. If you can find a clean copy for cheap do not hesitate.

Good quality pressing, timeless music. Well worth twenty quid paid. An AAA reissue done ina Stoughton for 30 quid would be better but it may never happen

Really impressive sound on this SACD! Excellent! Hard to find and pricey, but if you love this album, it’s worth it. Hopefully they’ll issue a few more of the early Reprise and later Capital Sinatra albums when Frank was at his best that have not yet been issued in this format.
