Linton Kwesi Johnson – LKJ In Dub

This sounds like a flat transfer or at least not a brick walled master. Never felt the need to upgrade, and since LKJ was recording in the UK, all his releases are "slicker" ( not meant pejoratively ) than the classic '70s JA reggae/dub sounds. No arguing with the music or the lyrics, the man is a stone genius... and to hear versions just meant there was more LKJ to go around... I'm definitely getting old because I buying "Bass Culture" ( and Dr Alimentado "best dressed chicken in town" and the first Scientist LPs) as they came out... 40 odd years later I'm still spinning these...

Definitely overdue for a vinyl reissue... I bought this on cassette so I could listen to it in the car now I kick myself I don't have it on vinyl LOL weird thing is I don't see a mid-80s cassette listed here... if I come across my cassette I'll List It... looks like the earliest cassette listed here is 1990 and I know I had it earlier than that...

Outstanding dub record, with a young Dennis Bovell at the controls. Pressing sounds solid.

Just got an OG copy of this. First track was a bit too uptempo for me at first and I wasn't feeling it, but it really settles in and I enjoyed. Then it slows down and the next couple tracks blew me away. This is top tier dub. Check Reality Dub & Peach Dub for a sample. LKJ is such a unique part of reggae history.

Had it on vinyl back in the day, sold it in the nineties and finally got it back for Christmas 2020. My favorite dub album of all time. This album is the real s***.

The crispest, punchiest, most sinister slice of Dub Reggae I think I've ever come across. I have been listening to these 8 tracks for better than 30 years and I still have not tired of them. 'Nuff said.
