Little Feat – Dixie Chicken

This is a great press. Particularly given its a re-press

A mix of Cajun, swamp, folk, blues, country, funk, boogie, southern rock, Dixieland & ragtime that flows from rocker to ballad & everything in between w/ top quality playing & songwriting (Lowell George truly was such a gifted songwriter and leader). One of (if not) their best album. So groovy & laid back.
Simply splendid.

This 16-bit remaster, coming 38 years after its debut, sounds amazing. The clarity, dynamics, and mix are perfect. I've heard plenty of 24-bit albums that don't sound nearly this good. Excellent!

Why is this "blocked" from the marketplace? It's not unofficial or is a bootleg. I don't know who makes these decisions, but that's really stupid. 👎
There's no real pictures either, so that doesn't help its case any..

Fantastic press- great bass, great seperation, overall a fine listen. Music is great, too.

I just got my copy of Dixie Chicken direct from the Rhino store, and the sleeve is damaged on the edge, front, and back. It looks like it happened at the factory, almost like it was ground away by a stray sleeve cutter. I wet cleaned and vacuumed the first disc, and it sounds great. It sounds somewhat compressed, which would be my only complaint about sound quality. No pops or clicks. I ed about getting a new sleeve. Fingers crossed.

Unlucky you. Seriously, there are no complaints about the pressing that was "Made in Czech Republic". Same bar code, same matrix numbers. But obviously much better product quality, apart from the immaculate music that was Little Feat in the first half of the 1970s.

Decent pressing given the year. Some of the best and most accessible content from Little Feat, likely their most popular album along with Waiting For Columbus.

Agree with all of these comments. Dark, muddy, no soundstage, did MFSL have their kit plugged in properly. Can't imagine anyone has stumped up for this on Discogs. I'll keep my copy just to remind myself how these things can so horribly wrong. PS also have a Warner Bros. Records K46200 1973 UK/Europe pressing. It's been around the block with multitudinous memorable plays but sounds so lovely compared to this Drek - peace - g
