FTA

Profile:

Also appears as "FTA Peru" or "FTA Industria Peruana".
FTA (Fabricantes Técnicos Asociados) was a Peruvian label / company. They apparently began as a label depending from Discos Smith S. A.. The first records branded "FTA" were yellow labels with black lettering. FTA emerged as an independent label in 1963.

Among the first RCA Victor albums branded FTA were those of Elvis Presley, for example, the single "Follow that dream / Angel" with black RCA Victor label and the numbering FTA- 002. Also, in the early days , the promotional discs for radios wore white labels, mostly with a simple RCA Victor label.

Under the management of Nilo Marchand , the factory grew in March 1967 and installed a new electroplating plant , which allowed him to do matrices in 45 minutes in the seventies and everyone knew the FTA releases on labels for their features pink , while Discos Smith disappeared from the market . The company lasted until 1984.
