Golden Years (2)

Profile:

Golden Years was established in the mid-nineties by David Bowie's former management company MainMan during the 70s to release Bowie and related material. Although they owned the rights on the material at that time all their releases are considered as semi-official because David Bowie never approved them.

Many records were announced but never released because at the end of the 90s David Bowie succeeded in buying the rights back and Golden Years ceased to exist. All releases are deleted and none of them were ever reissued.

I think discogs is being over censorious
About these releases. It’s not Discogs job to retroactively rule that something I could easily buy from legitimate retailers in 1994 (for instance) is now banned. This is going to be harder and harder justify as more material becomes public domain. There’s already very many public domain releases banned here that i can easily purchase at amazon. Who does discogs work for? The community or a few major labels?
