In 2012, Universal Music Group (UMG) bought EMI. Approval of the merger by the EU (in 2013) required that the combined company divest itself “of one third of its total operations to other companies with a proven track record in the music industry.” (Wikipedia)
In 2014 Warner Classics absorbed Erato label. Warner Classics moved its headquarters to Paris as part of the Classics division reorganization under [Invalid Label].

While Warner Music Group owns the former EMI and Virgin Classics catalogs, UMG retains the EMI and Virgin trademarks.
