Rádio Triunfo

Profile:

Rádio Triunfo is a Portuguese label founded in the early '70. It started by pressing records for UK and US labels such as WEA via P&D deals. The pressing plant, located near Porto, was then called "Fábrica Portuguesa de Discos" (F.P.D.) and it was later renamed "Fábrica Portuguesa de Discos da Rádio Triunfo".

Though mainly dedicated to pressing and distribution, Rádio Triunfo also represented many Portuguese bands, like UHF (2) and Arte & Ofício.

In 1985 the label was banned from "Associação de Editoras", a label regulatory entity, and lost many artists that it represented, which lead to label's bankruptcy a few years later. Part of the back catalogue was then bought by Movieplay.
