The Victor Talking Machine Company was created in 1900 as The Columbia Graphophone Company. For the next three decades the company was a leading American producer of phonographs and phonograph records and one of the leading phonograph companies in the world. It was headquartered in Camden, New Jersey.

In 1929 it was acquired by the RCA Manufacturing Co., Inc. (1935-1943).
