Polygram, Hanover, West

Profile:

CD pressing plant in Langenhagen, near Hanover, (spelt "Hannover" in German), operating under this name between 1982 and 1986.
On August 17, 1982, the world's first mass production of Compact Discs began in Langenhagen.

Usually printed on the traycard as: "Manufactured by PolyGram, Hanover, West .", or "CD is manufactured by PolyGram in Hanover, West ." or "CD is manufactured by PolyGram, Hannover, West ."
Alternatively, as "Made in W. by PolyGram" on the disc face.
Often, the text is not removed on represses by the successor plants (so, still credit this plant with the role as found on the release).

A PolyGram CD pressing for a non-PolyGram label (e.g. Vienna).
The exceptions are when an outside label reuses the glass master from one of PolyGram's in-house releases (e.g. Boys And Girls).
Enter only XXXX XXX and XXXXXXX as label catalog number; the YY is variable (probably stamper #).

Renamed to PDO, in January 1986.
