Shut down in 1974 by ABC Records (which bought Robey's labels two years earlier; some acts, including Carl Carlton, were transferred to the parent ABC label) and later renamed ABC Back Beat.

45 RPM Catalog Number, Date and Label Identification:
500 through 530 (1957–1959): White label.
531 and higher (1960 forward): Red "drum" label.
The label name is often shown as one word, "Backbeat."
