Roy B. Records

Profile:

New York disco label run by flamboyant producer and promoter Saturday Night (South African Disco Pop Hits 1981 To 1987), he had met Bermingham at Midem and had been bowled over by his effervescent personality. "He was a character!" Hollis enthuses. "I really liked him, so I named my label after him. He didn't have anything to do with our label, but he didn't mind me borrowing his name... He wanted me to!"
The South African Roy B. Records was based in Johannesburg. Phil Hollis mentions in the liner notes that he sold the label to Mercury (now Universal Music Group) in 1991.
Roy B. Records was manufactured and distributed in the US by Brasilia Records & Tapes Corp..
