Fonit Cetra

Profile:

Italian label established in December 1957 after merger of Cetra (Compagnia Editoriale Teatrale Radio Audizioni) labels. Active until October 1998.
Progressive rock reissues, first published in 1989+ had the text "Limited Edition by Vinylmagic..." and no barcode.
Second reissue pressings, late 1991 to 1992 had no Limited Edition text and also no barcode.
Barcodes were introduced circa November 1992.

In 1987 the label came under control of a new company called Nuova Fonit Cetra, which included a music publishing arm (Ed. Nuova Fonit Cetra). It was owned by Lucio Salvini.
As the result of financial woes, the whole operation was put up for sale in 1997 and bought by Warner Music International at the end of 1998.

Note: Any 1990s release dated earlier that does not conform to the above history will be a reissue.

How to play again your bronzed and oxyded CD from fonit centra around 90's remove from the black tray and artworks. keep away from the original artwork and jewel case.. put in a clear jewel case and wait about 2 years... this will fix any unplayable CD from this era. thank you !!!
