Status Records (2)

Short-lived, budget label launched by Prestige in fall of 1964. The material consisted mostly of Prestige sessions, characterised by bright orange center labels. Status pressings are also found on the Prestige blue trident label and the Prestige yellow fireworks label. These are determined as Status pressings based on the jacket, as these labels do not reference Status specifically. Status also sold overstock Prestige and New Jazz LPs by simply adding the black stylized S sticker to the front of the jacket covering the original Prestige or New Jazz label name.

For Status reissues there are two types of Status jackets, 1. those with the Status name and logo printed directly on the jacket itself. 2. Overstock Prestige or New Jazz jackets with only a Status sticker added. For Status reissues there are three types of LP labels found within those two types of Status jackets. 1. The main orange Status label with the black stylized 'S'. 2. Original yellow fireworks Prestige or purple New Jazz labels. 3. Blue Trident mid-1960s Prestige labels. Some reissues are found with both a blue trident label pressing and an orange Status label pressing.

There are also a number of Status issues that are both repackaged older sessions released on Status for the first time and new original sessions released on Status for the first time. There are also Status reissues of sessions on the Moodsville and Swingsville labels.
