Universal Manufacturing & Logistics Ltd.
CD and DVD manufacturing company and plant located in Blackburn, Lancs., UK.
Operating under this name from April 1999 to April 2002.
Previous name: PMDC, UK.
Sold to: Disctronics (UK) Ltd. and renamed to Disctronics Blackburn Limited (effective May 1, 2002).
This plant is often directly credited on the releases (CD mould text). The Blackburn plant can also be identified by a Mould SID Code IFPI 04xx in the CD mould (but that shouldn't be used to credit the plant).
It is possible that pre-UML pressings still carry Made in the U.K. by PDO or by PMDC identifiers because the original glass masters were simply re-used. In this case add:
Glass Mastered At - PDO, UK (or PMDC, UK respectively) and
Made By - Universal M & L, UK.
It is also possible that post-UML pressings/reissues carry UML identifiers because the glass masters were simply re-used by the new owners.
The 4 x Universal logo in the outer hub was introduced by Universal Music Group in 2004 to signify CDs manufactured for the Universal Music labels and companies.
