The Paul McCartney Collection
Profile: |
Re-issue of sixteen of Paul McCartney's albums. All were released in June 1993. Each album was digitally remastered at Abbey Road, some with additional packaging which included the posters and booklets issued with the original albums. All were available on CD and cassette. Bonus tracks were added to ten of the albums. |

Edited 5 months agoThese are infamous for having their sound neutered by overuse of noise reduction, and should be avoided like the plague. Luckily the Paul McCartney Archive Collection is the complete opposite.
EDIT: Ways in which the Archive Collection is superior:
- An abundance of bonus tracks which are all period-correct to each album
- Superior tape transfers with minimal compression and (thank god) no noise reduction! (Flaming Pie in particular no longer has clipping and is actually quieter than the original CD)
- Faithfully recreated artwork with no minimising of the cover to needlessly accommodate the series design template
- Mono version of Ram on CD for the first time
- Red Rose Speedway available for the first time with its originally-intended double album tracklist
