The Multnomah Hotel, Portland

Profile:

Opened in 1912, the Multnomah Hotel at 4th and Pine Streets in Portland, Oregon, was the largest hotel in the Pacific Northwest. It closed in 1963, then housed government offices until 1992. In 1997, after extensive renovations, the hotel reopened as Embassy Suites Downtown.

KXL radio opened its own studios in the hotel in 1928.

In April 1959, The Dave Brubeck Quartet performed live at the Multnomah Hotel; at least three of the titles they played were recorded and later released on LP and CD.
