The Sparton label.

The company manufactured the Canadian releases of several US companies, most notable here the Sparton Impulse! Records label.

Established in January 1930, manufacturing radios, phonographs, and later television sets.
In 1939 the plant added phonograph records to their product line and installed a pressing plant. In addition to its own Sparton label, it pressed records for American companies which had no Canadian manufacturing facilities. It was the pressing plant for Columbia from 1939 until 1954, when it became independent.
Sparton also pressed for Capitol Records from 1954 to 1958.
The first plant in Canada to press stereo records.

In the 1970s the company gradually moved away from manufacturing entertainment related items to defense based products.

Sparton Of Canada Ltd. was located on Elm Street at Pine Street and operated from 1930-2009. The building was subsequently demolished
