SDC (3)

Profile:

SDC was the common name of the Danish pressing plant related to SDC DanDisc A/S and the SDC Group. The 'SDC' branding first appeared in disc matrices in around 2000, replacing the former DanDisc in around 1997.

SDC was a major European multimedia company, offering duplication and replication of optical discs (CD, CD-ROM, DVD) and video and audio cassettes, as well as printing, packaging and PPS ("Pick-Pack&Ship" to distribute releases worldwide). The company also offered audio mastering at studios known as DanDisc Studios).

In 2005, SDC merged with Dicentia.

Identification by cover or label
SDC can sometimes be identified by a SDC logo on the cover or CD label. Example: Ian Van Dahl - Ace. Credit such releases with "Made By SDC", but do not deduce that CDs were glass mastered or pressed by SDC solely based on an artwork credit.

Identification by matrix
Discs from this pressing plant show a matrix number in the format 0xxxxxyy or 0xxxxxxyyy and sometimes without the first 0 (xxxxxyy), where 0xxxxx may indicate the date on which the glass master was created.

For example:
Artic Trond - Barbra B
Matrix / Runout: SDC PRCD-2006 00060707
Date: 2000-06-07

The Liptones - Espandrillos
Matrix / Runout: SDC AMTY008 030723229
Date: 2003-07-23
