Philippine Folk Dances

A series of at least fifteen LPs of Philippine folk music released on the Villar label beginning in 1959. All featured the talents of the well-known Filipino composer and musical director Juan Silos, Jr. and his Rondalla.

Villar claimed in the liner notes of the ninth album that “the Philippine Folk Dance Series… is already hailed as one of the great collections of recorded Filipiniana….” Absolutely true.

Individual albums were later re-released on vinyl and then as CDs.
