A vinyl pressing and tape duplication plant was opened next door to the offices in June 1976. It had 17 presses for albums and seven presses for singles. The plant started production with singles only in June and began pressing albums in October 1976. The official opening ceremonies for the new plant were held on June 15, 1977. The plant stopped pressing vinyl on July 13, 1984 but did continue its tape duplication operations. Records pressed at this plant are identified by a Capitol Records "target" logo [ ◎ ] machine-stamped in the runout and on 12" records a 1.5" pressing ring.

In September 1973 the company started adding price codes to the spine of releases.

Note: some Francophone releases will only have the French name of the label (EMI Music Canada in 1993 which is still used today.
