Takt Direct

Profile:

Takt Direct is a European media manufacturer that produces CD, DVD, Blu-Ray and vinyl records with a printing and packaging facility for a range of products including rigid boxes and books. The company is equipped with the Pheenix Alpha fully automatic as well as old school manual record presses. The company has offices in Austria and Poland.
Ownership is shared between Packaged Sounds in England and has representatives throughout the world.
Vinyl manufacturing (lacquer cutting, galvanics and pressing), optical media duplication and package printing are all provided in house.

Vinyl matrix scheme, valid for Takt Direct, Packaged Sounds and TAKT
#########-X-Y
# - internal project number (from 6-9 digits)
X - side number (e.g. A, B, C, etc.)
Y - stamper number

Please note that master processing is done by workload at each plant, this means that a master could be cut at Takt Direct, Packaged Sounds or TAKT and processed at Packaged Sounds, Takt Direct or TAKT or (and vice versa): for this reason, the there is no way to distinguish where a record was really pressed. Galvanics are done at TAKT for all plants.

Please add "Mastered At - TAKT" for any release matching the above matrix scheme, until the "Plated At" role will become available.
Please only add "Pressed By - Takt Direct" when it is explicitly mentioned / known where it was pressed. Stickers with "Made in Poland" or "Manufactured in Poland" in combination with above matrix scheme are good indicators.

How to enter the matrix number in the LCCN fields:
• Please only enter the "########" part, without the side and stamper numbers.
• If a release shows two or more of these numbers (e.g., multi-format releases), please enter each matrix number in a separate field.

If you buy a new record with "Made in Poland" somewhere on it, it was probably pressed by this company. Their pressings are pretty good in my experience, so far. The vinyl is better quality than that of GZ Media in their neighbouring Czechia.

if you send lacquers to takt direct for plating and pressing, you might as well throw them in the garbage. pressing quality is fine (though their discs need a solid cleaning to eliminate the light surface noise) but the plating is awful. everything ends up sounding dry and blah.
