Diki was one of the trendsetting labels of the early '90s in Belgium. In Moeskroen (Belgium), there was a small vinyl shop called Disco King, owned by producer Roger Samijn, where deejays came from everywhere to buy those sought after techno vinyls from all over Europe. There was always a lot of people in there and everyone knew the shopkeeper JF. It was also the homebase of Diki Records. I used to go regularly there when i was a young man back in 1992, a very exciting year for electronic music and good times for vinyl business, as mp3 and internet where non-existent at the time. The shop commercialized their music through the famous Radio Galaxie, through which i also discovered house/techno in november 1991. Although it is sometimes forgotten, Diki not only released 303-tracks, but they pioneered in a lot of subgenres.

Diki Records was the 'odd' label of the Belgium scene. Like R&S and Music Man, Diki had steady releases since the first days of global electronic culture. The Age Of Love / Age Of Love was released in 1990 and could be one of the first trance records to become an underground hit. While Bazz & Dr. Phibes were hard techno from the Nu-Beat scene, most of the early Diki releases were very 303 driven hard-acid tracks. A few really good moments deep within this label. The 1993 production by Joey Beltram (X-Buzz) was something not many know about, and Diki scored with Hope "Tree Frog" as the label faded into obscurity.
