Instant Records was formed in 1961 in New Orleans, Louisiana by Joe Banashak and financed by local record shop owner Irving Smith.
Named originally 'Valiant Records (5)' they changed to 'Instant Records' after receiving a letter of warning from Valiant Records.
Instant's biggest succes was I Like It Like That".
