The New Emerson

Profile:

Following his June 1, 1922 purchase of the Emerson Records (2) label with the New Emerson label in August 1923.

Sold for 50c., the label was positioned as a mid-price record to compete with the old Emerson company's former budget label, B. D. & M. Company (1924-1925).

In November 1924, Abrams sold the rights to manufacture Emerson records to the company that had been pressing his Emerson records, the Scranton Button Company. In May, 1925, the Emerson Recording Laboratories made their last recordings; they were dissolved in June 1925. The last New Emerson releases appeared in July 1925.

After a ten-month caesura, the label was continued under the old name, Emerson Records (2), but discontinued by July 1927.
