A direct result of Tale Of Us exclusive residence at Space in 2016, Afterlife explores the sleek, anthemic flavors of melodic techno. Most of the artists are pulled from the Life and Death label roster, so you might have an idea of the overall sound. Think of it as an Ibiza-friendly amalgamation of Bodzin-style filtered leads, gritty hihat-heavy rhythms, ethereal vocals and plenty of melodic workouts. Despite the elegant cover designs and a strong sonic identity, the overall sound often falls into the generic territory but still manages to pull some interesting ideas here and there. As concept and brand, Afterlife and its "falling man" logo have positioned themselves well within the Ibiza circle, and currently serve as a platform for elaborated multimedia shows featuring live performers and DJs. If this is enough to classify it as a strong legacy for years to come, it remains to be seen.
